Easter at home

After a fun but tiring egg hunt Saturday the kids took great naps and then we went to church. We got home we dyed our eggs. Here is daddy helping the kids get their eggs into the dye. Now being a teacher you think I would know better to read the directions carefully and follow them. Isn't that what we always reinforced with our students was to read the directions!!! I read them and it said to use warm water and vinegar with every color tab EXCEPT the pink. Oops...guess this is why the pink tab didn't dissolve or work very well because I added vinegar and didn't follow the directions!

Colin was making a green egg.

Kaitlyn was making an orange one.

All done..look at our pretty eggs!

Easter morning we came down to find that the bunny did come. And he ate most of the carrots that we left out.
We enjoyed going through our baskets!!

Then we went in the bathroom to find new bikes for us. We laughed and thought it was SO funny that the bunny would leave us our bikes in the bathroom:)

Since we were up super early....he were are at 6:45am testing out our new bikes!

We look forward to riding them a lot this summer!!

Egg Hunt at our house

We had an Easter Egg hunt at our house last Saturday morning. The kids had a lot of fun! Kaitlyn and Colin helped me all week get ready for the hunt. Here they are carrying the bin of 300 plastics eggs!
We were so happy to have our playgroup friends and our cousin Quintin come to our egg hunt!

SURPRISE!! Look who hopped on over to our egg hunt!! The kids didn't know the bunny was coming! The bunny or aka my mom:) K & C are lucky that their grandma will do anything for them...even if it means putting on a silly bunny costume:)
The funny thing was that Kaitlyn and Colin had no idea that it was their grandma in that costume...they just loved being near the bunny and getting hugs!

Here was our attempt at a group picture. I think we were missing a few kiddos.
We were happy to have Papa there too. Look at how full Kaitlyn's basket was. I think I overdid it with 300 eggs!! My estimation skills have never been really good:)

Colin's basket was overflowing by the end of the hunt too.

Another attempt at a group shot with the bunny.

The kids did crafts too. Kaitlyn was showing off her bunny scene that she made out of stickers.

Kaitlyn and Ben were wondering where that silly bunny went.

Jakob was too small to run around and pick up eggs but he was all smiles for the camera:)

Colin, Madi, Kaitlyn and Makenna working on their crafts! Thanks mom for being such a good sport and dressing up as our bunny...I owe you one!!

We love our neighbors!!

Today we went to our neighbors house and dyed Easter Eggs! It was so much fun! We missed Michael and Mikaela who were not there. Here are the kiddos dying their eggs. Rose was very brave to volunteer her house...all of that egg dye near her carpet made me nervous!
Colin was checking his eggs to see if they were ready or not.

Kaitlyn smiling for the camera before checking her eggs.

Great job kids...the eggs turned out beautiful!! We are so lucky to have such wonderful, FUN neighbors. The kids all play together and get along so well! Katie and Maddie are twins as well so Kaitlyn and Colin think thats pretty neat to live across from another set of twins:)
The moms decided to hide the real eggs after we dyed them. The kids didn't use baskets as we were afraid all of the eggs would break. So they found them one by one and put them back in the egg cartons. The kids had a blast! Thanks Rose for having us over today!!

Happy Anniversary "Kelby"!!

Happy 12th Anniversary Kelby!!
Today was a special day for our family! This post is dedicated to my sister Kelly and my brother Billy. It is in honor of 12 healthy years since Kelly gave Billy one of her kidneys! Therefore our family named the kidney "Kelby". Seems like yesterday that Kel and I were worked up to see if we were a match. Kel was a perfect match and I was not. My sister was so brave and I admire her for that!! It was her senior year in high school and she was very involved in Poms but chose to save our brothers life and donate her kidney! My hope is that everyone makes the very important decision to become an organ donor! We look forward to many more anniversary's! Love you guys!

Egg Hunt #1

Today we went to an Easter Egg hunt in the town where Grandma and Papa Young live. Its our first egg hunt this year. We are having one at our house next Saturday and then one at our Grandma's house on Easter. Here we are with the bunny. The sun was very bright and blinding us in this picture:) Our cousin Quintin came too!
Heres a video of us running around trying to grab lots of eggs. We were in the 3 year old and under group so we had an advantage over the younger kids:)

Daddy was checking our eggs. They limited everyone to 10 eggs since their were so many kids. We also got a big chocolate bunny! Yummy!

Uncle Randy, Auntie Kelly and Quintin at his first real egg hunt!

Grandma and Papa posing for a pic with their grandson and grandtwins:)

Friday Fun

On Friday mommy and daddy took us to a Spring Event at the library that they signed us up for. We got to see some neat puppet shows and meet the Easter Bunny. Here we are sitting and enjoying a puppet show. This was a funny puppet show about Easter Eggs!
The last skit was about a small bunny who magically turned into a BIG Easter Bunny. Here is the bunny waving to all of the kids!
We enjoyed seeing the Easter Bunny and taking a picture with him.
Friday night we surprised Grandma and Papa Young and stopped by their house. We ended up going out for dinner with them and shopping at Target. Thanks for the new games!! Here we are testing out the Hungry Hippo game!!
It is a loud game but alot of fun!!!

Then we played Hi-Ho-Cheerio.

Colin won!! Thanks for a fun night!!

Keeping Busy:)

I seem to be "blog happy" lately posting lots of new things:) We have been really enjoying having Daddy home this week for his Spring Break!! Unfortunately the weather hasn't cooperated and we are not going to get to the zoo and enjoy the outdoors as we would have liked.
Colin loves his new soccer ball! The kids are signed up for a soccer camp this summer so we have been playing soccer indoors and practicing our skills!
Kaitlyn loves her new heart raincoat! We have had to use it a lot with this goofy weather lately! Her hat didn't fit because she had big pigtails with bows on underneath:)
Getting ready to head outside to try out her new rain coat...she was looking for puddles to jump in she said!
Today we went to our neighbor Mikaela's softball game. We were heading down to the field. Brrr! It was cold and started to rain so we were not able to stay for the whole game. We look forward to going back to a game when the sun is shinning and we don't need our winter coats and mittens!

Go #18!!!!!

Museum Fun!

Today we went to the Children's Museum with our friends Heidi and Tyler. We were so excited to see them! We are also very exited to meet Tyler's new brother or sister in September!
Colin was using his muscles to lift some weights in their work out area. Kaitlyn gave it a try too....the dumbbells are foam:)

Trying out the slide.

Thanks Heidi for playing store with us and being a great cashier!

Off to the mailbox...Kaitlyn was mailing Easter cards to her family and friends:)

Tyler had a great time too!

The puppets were pretty neat...Colin liked the police puppet.

Kaitlyn and Tyler were washing cars at the car wash. Looks sparkling clean!!

After all of that playing we needed some lunch so we headed over to Applebees. Here we are waiting to be seated! It was great seeing you guys today!
