5K Run!

Sunday was a big day for Cam and I! We ran a 5K for our local school district to help raise money for literacy tools for the classrooms. Cam was able to run 6 miles this summer so he didn't have to train as much as I did. Plus this was his 2nd 5K he ran this summer. It was a HUGE accomplishment for me as I am not a big runner but its amazing what you can do if you put your mind to it and train hard! We were training for weeks and cutting off a lot of time as the weeks went on. The best part was that we had our family there to support us at the finish line and our neighbors on the course to help get us thru the race! It was a lot of fun because we started at the school and ran through a few subdivisions one of which was ours. Part of the course had us running right behind our house which was fun! Here we are arriving at the school at 7:30am...it was very foggy but it let up and the sun was shinning bright!
Lining up for the race. There were about 150 people who participated!

Thanks to our wonderful neighbors for supporting us! Love the signs girls! Being that they are cheerleaders we were excited they could cheer us on!

Go Cam Go!!!

They were at the top of a VERY steep hill that we had to run up. Perfect place to sit and cheer us on because it helped keep us going strong!

Do I look like I am about to pass out:) The hills in our neighborhood were brutal!! Here I was just coming up to the top of the hill!

Our cheerleaders at the finish line. Thanks to our kiddos, my parents, in-laws, sister and nephew for all of your support at the finish line!!!

Cam running to the finish line!

He made great time! 25 min 46 sec!! Way 2 Go!!

Almost there!!

Best time yet! 29 min 40 sec!!! That was a huge accomplishment being that when I started training I couldn't run the whole thing and it took me 36 min. I cut about 6 1/2 min off of my time in the weeks leading up to the race!

After the race with Kaitlyn!

Colin, Mommy & Daddy after the race!

When we got home K & C said they wanted to run a 5K.....off they go!!

That night they wanted to sleep in our 5K t-shirts that we got from the race. They had them on backwards:)

Grandparents Day!

Last Saturday was Grandparents Day at Kaitlyn and Colin's pre-school. They were so incredibly lucky to be able to bring both sets of grandparents to their celebration and picnic!! Thank you so much to my in-laws for making the long trip up for this occasion! Kaitlyn and Colin were SO excited and proud to show off their grandparents! Parents were not allowed to go to the celebration so we packed up their picnic lunches and sent the 6 of them off to school. I almost teared up watching them drive off knowing Kaitlyn and Colin were so excited to show them their school and have both sets of grandparents participate in this special event! Thanks to the grandparents for taking tons of pictures for Cam and I to see. You did great! Since I wasn't there I am not writing a caption for every picture. You can tell by looking at the pictures how much fun the kids had!
Thanks to the 2 best set of Grandparents two kids could ask for!! We love you!Colin asked me to take his picture before they left. What a cutie pie!!

1st HS Football Game

Last Friday night we went to Daddy's school districts HS football game. It was our first time going to a game and we had so much fun! It was 9/11 so they had ceremonies going on. Daddy's Middle School band was playing with the HS for the ceremony so we were there supporting them. They also had a Black Hawk helicopter there and it took off over the football field at the start of the game. It was SO neat! Here is daddy and Colin in front of the helicopter!
Kaitlyn and Colin loved seeing the inside of the helicopter!!

Colin was checking out all of the controls!
Family Pic!

Colin was very interested in the game! During the Star Spangled Banner we were so embarrassed because Colin screamed out really loud during the silence that he wanted to eat!

Everyone received clappers to make noise during the game. GO BULLDOGS!!!!

After we got home we spent some time outside with our neighbors. Colin and Kaitlyn tried on their new t-shirts from the game. They cant wait to go back to another game and cheer the Bulldogs on!!

The funny part is that her husband and Cam grew up together. We set them up and the rest is history:) They now have 2 handsome little boys! If this picture doesn't give you baby fever I don't know what else would....hes just the cutest little peanut!
Congrats Heidi, Steve and Big Bro Tyler!!! Cant wait to come visit you guys again now that you are home from the hospital!

Our Week

Here's some pics and stories from our week:) The kids started off their week healthy and all back to their adorable selves! Kaitlyn missed show and tell last Thursday since she was sick so she was able to bring in her American Girl Bitty Doll Kaylee on Tuesday. She was very excited!! She kept saying "mom all I have to do is show it and tell it:)

Then Tuesday after school we met at Portillos with friends to celebrate Ben's birthday and give him his present. We were bummed that we missed his birthday party last weekend. Ben is turned backwards...he didn't want to smile for the camera:) Too funny!

Auntie Kristina bought cookies at the bakery for all of us to have for a treat. Yum! Thanks Auntie Kristina!!!
Attempting a group pic outside of Portillos....wheres Jeffrey??

There he is...he wanted his own barrel to sit on:)

If you are a long time blog follower you probably remember the posting with Colin doing handstands and headstands in his room during nap time. Well, the other day he decided not to nap and instead was "looking for me". I turned on the monitor and their was his face right up close....he was saying...."mommy are you in there, come get me I am up!" I was cracking up at him!!

Then he got closer and said..."Mooooom" about 30 times. Too funny!
Kaitlyn talking on the phone with Papa....she sure loves to talk on the phone!

This was just too cute....having a snack and great conversation with each other on the front porch...life is good:)

This is how we ended our week today. I wont mention who did it because they were very sad and upset when I found out!!! The kids play house all of the time..its really cute to see their imaginations run wild! Under the dining room was their house. I didn't know there were any crayons involved in their playtime...until one of them told on the other. This is a pic of the underside of my dinning room table....it was completely COVERED in crayon drawings as if it were a piece of artwork!!!! Thankfully it was the underside and not the top!!! She(oops did I say she??) did color on the leg of the table too. Luckily with much scrubbing efforts I was able to get it clean. Needless to say this child was very sad to see me so upset and offered to give me a flower when we went outside. This child was really working me to accept an apology:) But I have to say that this child was also practicing writing letters too on the underside of the table...so it was somewhat educational right:) Ahhh kids...gotta love them!! I moved past it and am now looking forward to our fun weekend ahead!
Stay tuned for pics from our weekend!!
