Milwaukee Zoo

We could not have asked for a more perfect day today! The weather was gorgeous and we had such a great time at the zoo! We are all wiped! Kaitlyn and Colin are at the perfect age for the zoo....everything amazed them which was cute! Here they are in their I Love My Twin Sister/Brother shirts. Sitting in front of the Milwaukee Zoo sign.
Family picture:)
Up close with the flamingos!
We went to the seal and sea lions show. They really enjoyed seeing the tricks that were preformed!
Waiting for the train ride in front of a train shaped bush! Kaitlyn was our map girl today....she wanted to hold the map and told us where to go and what we had and had not seen yet.

Waving to the big elephants.
Daddy telling us about the giraffes.
Hi Mr. Camel......all of the animals were out today and many of them came really close so we could see them!
We sat on a cow at the farm petting zoo!

Schaumburg Flyers Baseball Game

We went to a Schaumburg Flyers game today. It was the kids first time going to a baseball game. They wanted to bring their pink and blue mitts just in case they had an opportunity to catch a ball:) There was a slight chance of rain but based on how excited they were we knew we would go rain or shine!Mommy with her all star players:)
Outside of Alexian Field....Colin could not believe how big it was!
They were amazed once we got inside...we arrived at noon for a 1:20 game. Here they were watching batting practice.
Hanging out with daddy before the game. We had 2nd row seats!! Can you tell we were there over an hour early....nobody was in their seats yet:)
Colin was so brave and slapped Bearon the Bear high five!
Mommy and Colin posed with the Pet Smart dogs. It was Dog Day today so people could bring their dogs to the game if they sat in the lawn section.
They were tossing balls into the stands in between innings...we were trying to catch one. We ended up moving seats when it started raining so we could be under an awning. Here the sun was back out....it was such goofy weather! Before leaving the game we sat on Bearon the Bear.
Look at that blue sky in the background. It was sunny and warm when we arrived but pretty cool when we left. We had a great day as a family! Tomorrow we are off to the Milwaukee Zoo. Check back tomorrow for pictures of our outing! We love having daddy on vacation so we can do all of these fun things:)

Our Weekend

We had a busy but fun weekend. In fact, Saturday we were barely home because we were so busy! Here we are at the Cary carnival Saturday night. Mommy had to squeeze into all of the rides since Daddy was too tall:) Our favorite ride was the helicopter! Mommy with us on the train ride.
Daddy and Colin enjoying the carousal ride
Sunday we went cosmic bowling with the Harvey family. We always have such a great time with them! Here was daddy helping Colin bowl.
Kaitlyn gets so excited that she runs away before she even sees how many pins she knocks down:)
Mommy and her two all star bowlers!
The 3 Amigos: Madi, Colin and Kaitlyn
Mommy with little Makenna
They had comfy couches instead of chairs to sit on while waiting for your turn to bowl. It was a neat place! The 3 amigos lounging on the couch.
We got home late this afternoon and decided to skip naps. The problem was that we stayed out til midnight last night and the kids were exhausted today! So we took them for a run in their new stroller and when we got home we looked inside and they were both passed out!
Guess that means that had a fun weekend:)

New Jogging Stroller

We got a new jogging stroller/bike trailer today! Grandma Young went to a Hands of Hope charity event in Barrington today with her friends and they had one of these cool new strollers for sale. All of the proceeds went to this charity so Grandma thought she would help out a good cause and purchase one for us:) It converts from a stroller to a bike trailer. The only problem is mommy and daddy do not own bikes so they will use it as a jogging stroller for now. Bye...we are off to test it out!
Daddy took us for a spin on Grandma and Papas driveway.
Papa was jogging down the driveway with us in it yelling to go faster!
Papa read us some books before we went out to eat.
Colin was helping turn the pages of his farm book.
Later we went and had dinner at La Hacienda restaurant and then walked around Deer Park mall. Here is Grandma pushing us at the mall. Of course we had to stop for Ice Cream at Cold Stone. Colin was thrilled that they had blue ice cream and of course Kaitlyn had to have pink. We had a really fun night out!!!

1st Trip to the Movies!

We went to the movie theater for the first time ever today with Mommy and Auntie KK. We had SO much fun! Mommy was impressed with how quiet we were and how we stayed in our seats the whole time we were there. They have free movies on Tuesdays and Wednesdays at 10am all summer long and they change every week. One movie is G and the other is PG. We saw The Bee Movie today. We plan to make it a weekly event if we can. For those of you that live in the area here is the website so you can check it out. The theaters in Crystal Lake, Lake Zurich and Round Lake are participating in the Family Film Festival.
Here we are hanging out with Auntie KK outside of the theater.
Auntie KK, Kaitlyn and Colin waiting for mommy to get the car. We went to Target and Kohl's after to shop for awhile. It was a fun morning!!!

7 years later.....

This blog mainly focuses on Kaitlyn and Colin but we thought we would share a picture of us:) Today was our 7 year anniversary. We dropped the kids off at Grandma & Papa Young's house and went for a nice Italian dinner. Then we enjoyed the beautiful weather and walked around an outdoor mall. Of course we couldn't resist going to Cold Stone for ice cream and then we had to shop some more to walk off our dinner, drinks and dessert:) It was a really nice date night for us....we definitely need to do it more often!!

Fathers Day

Happy Fathers Day!! Daddy had a nice, relaxing day today. He requested McDonald's for breakfast so here we are delivering it to him:) We also gave him some of our play McDonald's food and a play cookie too just in case he was still hungry. Kaitlyn LOVES high heels!!! She wanted to wear these to Aunt KK's today but we obviously said no!
