Last Friday was a very special day for Kaitlyn and Colin. They were able to spend the entire day downtown Chicago with both sets of Grandparents. They had such a wonderful time! Thanks to the Grandma's and Papa's for taking the time to make Kaitlyn and Colin's day SO special!! The girls went to the American Girl Store and the guys went to The Museum of Science and Industry. Here are the kids all excited to head downtown:)
We moved their car seats to the back of my truck which they loved sitting all the way in the back! That way the adults could climb in and out and not have to hurdle over car seats:) On our way to Chicago!!!

What a beautiful day and a beautiful city! We could not have asked for better weather!!

Kaitlyn with her Grandmas outside of American Girl.

Checking out all of the new stuff they have at the store!

Grandma Willis and Kaitlyn looking at the shoes. Kaitlyn wanted every pair of shoes she touched:)

Thanks to the Grandmas for treating Kaitlyn! She loves all of her new American Girl stuff!!

Mommy and Kaitlyn at lunch in the American Girl cafe.

Kaitlyn with her Grandmas at lunch. We used the conversation cards that they place on the table. One of the questions for Kaitlyn was how would you describe what you look like to someone. Her adorable answer was "I look like a princess". How cute is she?!?!

Kaitlyn is such a great mommy to her doll Kaylee!!!

She made sure to feed Kaylee lunch too!

The guys were at the museum while we were at the American Girl store. The kids distinguish between their grandparents by calling them "Farm Grandma and Papa" (because they live on a farm) and "Choo Choo Grandma and Papa" (because Papa is a huge train collector). They started it when they were very little and it has stuck. How appropriate that the museum had a train and farm exhibit!!!! Here they are at the entrance to the farm exhibit. (yes I asked Cam to bring my spare camera and take pics)

Look how big this tractor tire is!!!! Colin was very excited to get a Museum t-shirt!! Thanks to the Papas for making his day special and for his cool new stuff!

Daddy, Papa Willis and Colin sitting on a cow:)

Colin was able to get in the cab of this John Deere tractor. Papa came in to show him all of the parts:)

Playing in the corn feed.

Papa Young was showing Colin the train exhibit.

They also went to an airplane exhibit.

Colin and Papa Young checking out the inside of the plane. Papa Young works in MN every week so he is definitely a frequent flyer and knows his airplanes:)

We all met up at Navy Pier. The kids with their "Choo Choo Grandma and Papa".

The kids with their "Farm Grandma and Papa".

Checking out the beautiful view and all of the boats!

Watching the birds. In fact poor Kaitlyn got pooped on by a bird on her leg when she was sitting down. Cam got pooped on too when he was walking. We must have been poop magnets that day...or in the wrong place at the wrong time...twice:)

Group Picture:)

We all went back to our house for a late BBQ dinner. It was after 7pm when we got home and we were all exhausted!

The next morning we drove Grandma and Papa Willis to Naperville so they could catch the train back to the farm. The kids were walking with Grandma and Papa while waiting for the train to come.

"Bye Grandma and Papa"!!! Kaitlyn started crying when they got on the train!

Have a safe trip back...bye!!!
Cam and I are so lucky to have such wonderful parents! They are amazing Grandparents to Kaitlyn and Colin as well! We appreciate you all taking time off of work and rearranging your schedules so you could spend the day with your "GrandTwins". They will have wonderful memories of their special day! We love you!!
