Special Chicago Visit!

Last Friday was a very special day for Kaitlyn and Colin. They were able to spend the entire day downtown Chicago with both sets of Grandparents. They had such a wonderful time! Thanks to the Grandma's and Papa's for taking the time to make Kaitlyn and Colin's day SO special!! The girls went to the American Girl Store and the guys went to The Museum of Science and Industry. Here are the kids all excited to head downtown:) We moved their car seats to the back of my truck which they loved sitting all the way in the back! That way the adults could climb in and out and not have to hurdle over car seats:) On our way to Chicago!!!

What a beautiful day and a beautiful city! We could not have asked for better weather!!

Kaitlyn with her Grandmas outside of American Girl.

Checking out all of the new stuff they have at the store!

Grandma Willis and Kaitlyn looking at the shoes. Kaitlyn wanted every pair of shoes she touched:)

Thanks to the Grandmas for treating Kaitlyn! She loves all of her new American Girl stuff!!

Mommy and Kaitlyn at lunch in the American Girl cafe.

Kaitlyn with her Grandmas at lunch. We used the conversation cards that they place on the table. One of the questions for Kaitlyn was how would you describe what you look like to someone. Her adorable answer was "I look like a princess". How cute is she?!?!

Kaitlyn is such a great mommy to her doll Kaylee!!!

She made sure to feed Kaylee lunch too!

The guys were at the museum while we were at the American Girl store. The kids distinguish between their grandparents by calling them "Farm Grandma and Papa" (because they live on a farm) and "Choo Choo Grandma and Papa" (because Papa is a huge train collector). They started it when they were very little and it has stuck. How appropriate that the museum had a train and farm exhibit!!!! Here they are at the entrance to the farm exhibit. (yes I asked Cam to bring my spare camera and take pics)

Look how big this tractor tire is!!!! Colin was very excited to get a Museum t-shirt!! Thanks to the Papas for making his day special and for his cool new stuff!

Daddy, Papa Willis and Colin sitting on a cow:)

Colin was able to get in the cab of this John Deere tractor. Papa came in to show him all of the parts:)

Playing in the corn feed.

Papa Young was showing Colin the train exhibit.

They also went to an airplane exhibit.

Colin and Papa Young checking out the inside of the plane. Papa Young works in MN every week so he is definitely a frequent flyer and knows his airplanes:)

We all met up at Navy Pier. The kids with their "Choo Choo Grandma and Papa".

The kids with their "Farm Grandma and Papa".

Checking out the beautiful view and all of the boats!

Watching the birds. In fact poor Kaitlyn got pooped on by a bird on her leg when she was sitting down. Cam got pooped on too when he was walking. We must have been poop magnets that day...or in the wrong place at the wrong time...twice:)

Group Picture:)

We all went back to our house for a late BBQ dinner. It was after 7pm when we got home and we were all exhausted!

The next morning we drove Grandma and Papa Willis to Naperville so they could catch the train back to the farm. The kids were walking with Grandma and Papa while waiting for the train to come.

"Bye Grandma and Papa"!!! Kaitlyn started crying when they got on the train!

Have a safe trip back...bye!!!
Cam and I are so lucky to have such wonderful parents! They are amazing Grandparents to Kaitlyn and Colin as well! We appreciate you all taking time off of work and rearranging your schedules so you could spend the day with your "GrandTwins". They will have wonderful memories of their special day! We love you!!

My Rock Stars!

Today the kids were playing at the neighbors...thanks Rose for watching them for me:) There were 5 baby bunnies nestled in their mulch. Kaitlyn and Colin were adding grass to the bunnies nest. Don't worry they didn't get near the bunnies or touch them!!!
So cute!!!! I couldn't believe their were 5 tiny bunnies in there:)

Katie was reading the kids a book...so sweet!!!

Cam had to go to a board meeting tonight so the kids and I were bored and decided to have a dance party. Their favorite song is Poker Face:) I turned it on and they danced their little hearts out in this video:)

Then the kids decided they need to be "rock stars" and get their sunglasses and guitars and have me videotape. Can you tell they love the camera? :)

Weekend Pics

Sunday was a beautiful day! We did lots of work around the house. The kids played outside all day! They had a picnic lunch with the neighbor girls while the adults had a picnic lunch on the driveway:)
Thanks to our neighbor Dave for helping us with our projects on Sunday!! We really appreciate it! The kids shower needed to be fixed and we put a screen door on our garage door. Small projects always turn into larger ones for us so Cam had to get Dave's help with them. Our summer project is going to be painting the garage!

After a fun morning outside Colin was passed out cold during nap time. The thing is Colin will sometimes spend 1 or 2 hours in his room singing and entertaining himself and then fall asleep. I took this picture at 6:10pm when I went in his room to wake him up from his nap (yes he was still napping at that time because he went to bed at 3:45pm). Needless to say he didn't go to bed at 7:30 that night:)

Girls Day in Chicago

Friday was a special day for Kaitlyn. We had a girls day downtown Chicago at the American Girl store. We went with her best friend Madi and Auntie Kristina. We had SO much fun and cant wait to do it again someday! Colin also had a special day. He slept over at Grandma and Papa Young's house and then spent the day with them. They went to Target so he could pick out a toy. He really enjoyed his special day with them!! Thanks mom and dad for watching Colin overnight and making his day special too! Colin gets the next special outing! Have to be fair! Ready for lots of pics?!?! There were so many to choose from:)
Kaitlyn has the Bitty Toddler Twins. She chose a boy who she named Connor and a girl who she named Kaylee. She chose to only bring Kaylee downtown to make it easier. Here she is dressed in matching clothes with Kaylee.

Posing outside of the store before we went inside to shop! I bought matching jewelry for the girls to wear and Kristina bought them disposable cameras to document their special day. The girls looked too cute with their matching jewelry, stroller and purses. They are true shoppers:)

Best Buddies!!

Checking out the dolls.

We went for the Bitty Fun Day event that was going on. Here are the girls making tiara's.

They made beautiful tiara's! Here they are enjoying stories and singing songs.

Here is Amber from American Girl and Kaitlyn. She was so sweet and pierced Kaylee's ears for Kaitlyn while we were at the store. Kaitlyn has been wanting to have Kaylees ears pierced since she got her in November! Kaitlyn had her ears pierced when she was 6 months old. They anesthesiologist pierced them during her first surgery.

Kaitlyn loves Kaylee's new earring. Kaitlyn wears the real diamond earrings that daddy bought for her when she was born. Now they can match:)

Mommy and her princess!

Auntie Kristina and Madi:)

The girls waiting to eat lunch.

We bought them ice cream cone cookies as a special treat. Yummy!
We had such a great time!!!
Do you think Kaitlyn had fun?? She was exhausted from a fun filled girlie day!!
