Playdate!

Yesterday Kaitlyn and Colin were each able to invite a friend from school over to play. Colin has been talking about his buddy Reese since the fall. Kaitlyn chose Madi for her friend and Makenna too. They were SO excited for their play date and look forward to inviting more of their friends from class over to play again soon!
The girlies:) Notice Kaitlyn and Madi have their matching Best Friends Forever shirts on!

The boys playing in their own little world. They were building a huge lego wall:)

The girls played with Kaitlyn's doll house for a long time.
Smiling Makenna..so cute:)
Whats the obsession with Mighty Beans?...I have no idea...the girls were on the kitchen floor playing with them until they all ended up under my stove:)
They built a huge wall only to have the dinosaurs knock it down:)

The kids were so well behaved and had a great time!!

Jake's 1st Birthday Party

Yesterday we went to Cams school to stop by the big wrestling tournament that was going on. Then we headed to Jake's 1st birthday party. Then we had our neighbors over for a Spoons game night. It was a busy but fun day! Happy 1st Birthday Jake!!! We had a lot of fun at your party!
The kids were able to make these adorable monkeys which was the party theme. It was like Build a Bear. They stuffed their monkeys and then made a wish and kissed a little star before they put it in and then closed their monkey up. Here is Daddy helping with their monkeys.

They call them their monkey moo's! They are so soft!!

Getting ready to dig into his cake!!

Yummy!!

Thanks for a fun time Jake!!!

Kaitlyn's Surgery

Kaitlyn had her surgery on Thursday Feb 4th. It happened to be my birthday. We didn't have many choices for dates because it had to be on a Thursday and this Thursday is the kids Valentine Day party at school which we didn't want her to miss. We love Kaitlyn's surgeon and anesthesiologist who we know. We decided since they are sports nuts to get them baseball hats from their favorite team. Kaitlyn decorated the bags Wed nights. Here she is showing off her hard work.

Thursday morning at Children's. She thought these socks were super silly sine they were so big!

She loves playing with Daddys Droid phone. She knows how to use the touch screen better than I do and does the finger paint application. Here she is keeping busy.

This was right before she went to the OR. Dr J loves Kaitlyn!! He is the anesthesiologist that put my sister to sleep when she gave my brother a kidney. He LOVED his Northwestern hat and put it right on over his scrubs hat. Plus he was showing off the picture on his bag that Kaitlyn drew of him:)
All done! It took about 35 minutes. Cam and I were in the recovery room waiting for her to come out. She was wide awake this time coming down the hall and already eating a popsicle!! Its funny how last time she was not as alert at all when she woke up...this time she was talking the nurses ears off immediately when she woke up:)
She is such a brave little girl and we are proud of her!!
Happy to be home!!!

Taking a little rest!

Grandma brought Colin back home since he slept over at her house. He was so happy to see Kaitlyn and gave her a big hug!!

Here is my one birthday pic. Since I didn't sleep the night before because of nerves I was exhausted. We had to get up and be out of the house around 5am. When we came home from Kaitlyn's surgery Cam, Kaitlyn and Colin all put on comfy clothes and napped. I spent the afternoon in my comfy clothes on the couch relaxing. Thanks to Kristina for making us a yummy dinner and dessert. It was so helpful as we were drained!! Cam bought a mini cake so the kids could sing to me. I went to Super Couponing that night with my sister and some friends. It was actually pretty amazing what we learned. So all in all it was a great birthday!

Teach Me Sports Class

Wednesday night we had our first Teach Me Sports class. Please excuse the yellow pictures...the lighting in the gym is horrible. Every week they learn a new sport. This week was baseball. The only complaint I would have about this class is K & C are left handed and they didn't have any left handed mits. They had to use right handed one which had to have felt weird to them:( Here is Kaitlyn trying to catch the ball!
Getting ground balls with Madi.

Nice throw Colin!!!

Colin was SO excited that his buddy Braden from school was in his class. Here they are playing shortstop during the game chit chatting. Keep your eyes on the ball boys:)

Nice hit Colin!!!

Thankfully they were able to bat left handed! Good job Kaitlyn!

During the game Colin was diving for a wild ball:) The kids had a lot of fun....they look forward to next weeks sport...soccer!

Open Gym

Wednesday we went with Heidi, Tyler and baby Connor to Open Gym. It was our first time and we had so much fun! Here is adorable baby Connor just relaxing and watching the kids play.
Colin doing a twist jump into the pit!

Kaitlyn, Tyler and Colin jumping on the trampoline and then Kaitlyn jumped into the pit!

Their favorite part was the pit!! Thanks for a fun morning Heidi, Tyler and Connor...we look forward to seeing you guys again soon!!

Disney on Ice

Last Saturday we went to Disney on Ice at the United Center. The kids were super excited! Of course they wore their Mickey & Minnie shirts. The funny thing is that here they are 2 years ago for Disney on Ice in the same shirts...yes they still fit them since I bought them really big:) Look at how much they have changed and grown!!

After the show we went with the Harvey's to Rainforest Cafe downtown Chicago. It was the kids first time there. Here we are waiting to get our table.

Best friends!!

The kids were so good at dinner...having fun coloring!

Colin was SO excited about the frog that visited our table....Kaitlyn was NOT so excited and hugging tight to daddy:)
Colin and Madi being silly:) We had such a fun day!! Thanks to the Harvey's for inviting us!!

The Batmobile

Last Sunday we went to have dinner at Grandma and Papa Young's house. Normally Papa flys out on Sundays to MN for work. Yes, he works in MN and lives in IL. While we were there we checked out Papa's new 2010 Corvette that he just got. We think its looks like the Batmobile!!!!! Here we are checking out the inside...see us waving:)

You are so giving to others Papa....thats why we think you are so deserving of a fun toy for yourself:) Drive safe!!

Even Quintin was able to check out the inside.

We had a yummy homemade dinner and of course made sundaes afterwards:) Yum!!
