How Many More Days Mommy?

Cam and I were having a hard time explaining that Christmas is still a month away to K & C. Wouldn't you get confused if you have been seeing Christmas stuff in stores since October! :) So we decided to make a Countdown to Christmas chart to help them understand the concept of how many more days til Christmas! Here is Colin coloring his Santa.
Kaitlyn was working very hard coloring as well!
Here they are showing off their Santa's!
22 more days til Christmas as of yesterday!! They cant wait for Santa's beard to be full of cotton balls because that means he will be visiting our house!!

Moms Night Out!

Last night some of the moms from our play group went out for dinner and drinks. We all taught together at Woodland and enjoy getting together every other Wednesday with the kiddos! Last night it was SO nice to get out and actually be able to have a conversation without having a kid pulling at my leg:) Here we are: Kelli, Holly, Laura, Stacey & Kristina. We missed Carrie and Barclay who weren't able to make it last night. Looking forward to the next night out ladies!! See you Wednesday!

Thanksgiving

Happy Thanksgiving! Cam and I feel like we have so much to be thankful for!!! We feel so blessed to have 2 beautiful children and have each other:) Here are K & C waiting for our family to arrive! Cousins Pic! Poor Quintin.....he fell on the driveway Thanksgiving morning and scraped his face. He still smiled for his Auntie Stacey though...he was saying CHEEEESE:) We were so excited to have Auntie Kelly, Uncle Randy and Q with us for dinner before they left to go see Uncle Randy's family.
Grandma & Kaitlyn
K & C thought it was so neat to watch Papa carve the turkey.
Getting ready to stuff ourselves!! Papa & Kaitlyn reading a book.
Kaitlyn being so silly wrapping herself in lights. She liked when they were on and she kept saying they were SO beautiful:)
We have a tradition that every year that Papa puts up the kids LGB Christmas train with them. We take pictures and started a photo album for him so he can remember it year after year. This is our 3rd year doing the train. The train is very rare and only a few were made in the world so we feel lucky to have one....not sure if Papa even knew how rare it would be when he bought it! So we are very careful with it so it doesn't get broken:)
Colin and Papa fitting the last piece of track together.
Uncle Bill was giving Kaitlyn piggy back rides!
They waited so patiently for the train to come out of the box.....finally!!!
They changed into their PJ's and were so excited to see their train work!!!
Yeah! It works and we love the bells and whistles that it makes....mommy and daddy usually are sick of the noise by Christmas because we run it so many times a day! We had fun..thanks Papa for helping us with our train again this year!!

3 Year Check Ups

Today the kids had their 3 year check ups with Dr. Forsey. We absolutely love their pediatrician! She is so wonderful with Kaitlyn and Colin and takes so much time with us to go over everything! Its hard when you have twins and you are trying to go over both of your children's development in a short time span. You want to feel like each child is separate and deserving of that individual time and she does a great job of making them feel as individuals. The kiddos are doing well and growing, growing, growing!! Kaitlyn kept asking Dr. Forsey "am I getting a shot today?" It gets more difficult when they get older and know whats coming but they did really well!
Here they are with her before she took their blood and gave them shots:)

Playing Dress Up

Sunday K & C went to Grandma and Papa Young's new house so Cam and I could go pick up a new dishwasher in Naperville. This one was too cute not to post....sorry Papa:) Colin was putting Grandmas old jewelry on Papa and thought it was silly. Look at these styling earrings he has on...Papa was a good sport!! Grandma saved mommy's 1st Holy Communion dress and Kaitlyn absolutely loved wearing it. In fact Grandma said Kaitlyn wore it most of the time she was there. She looks like she belongs on Little House On The Prairie! Kaitlyn thought it was a wedding dress and said she was going to marry Colin. Its so cute that she loves her brother but how do you explain that cant happen to a 3 year old:)

Another Fun Filled Weekend!

Saturday we had a busy but fun day! We left early in the morning to go to the United Center to see the circus! We are so lucky to have such wonderful friends that include us in all of these fun activities...thanks Harvey family!! We love going to the sky box at the United Center and seeing great shows:) Here are the kiddos being silly before we left! Who is that clown?!?!

One hour before the circus we were able to go down to the main floor and get up close with the clowns and animals. This was Kelly the elephant.

Kelly was painting a picture....how neat is that?!?!
The Willis fam enjoying the circus!

Waving goodbye to the clowns and animals:)

All of the kids who were at the circus.
Best Buddies hanging out after the circus!!
We stopped at the Rock and Roll McDonald's before heading to Michigan Avenue for the Lighting of the Magnificent Mile Parade!
Do we look like we are freezing or what? :) We were so happy to have the front row view though so it was worth the wait!

Don't Kaitlyn, Colin and Madi look thrilled to be there?!?! They had so many layers of clothes on they could barely move:)

It was so pretty when the tree lights came on!!!!

Here is a video of Mickey Mouse starting the parade!!! We were standing in the perfect location and lucky enough to be in the front row!

Look at this huge balloon!!!

Benny the Bull came running right towards us:) He was dancing and being silly!

The floats were neat...the kids enjoyed seeing all of the characters! They even had an American Girl float! Of course we had to stop in the store since we were downtown.....I did some quick Christmas shopping for Miss Kaitlyn while we were there:)

The parade ended with Santa! He received lots of waves from my kiddos!!! They cant want to see him again....guess we will be visiting him several times this year since they are not afraid anymore:)

Have a Good Day Daddy!

Wednesday morning Kaitlyn and Colin woke up super early....in fact early enough where Cam had not left for work yet! They were SO excited to be able to see him as they never get to in the mornings. This was too cute so I grabbed my camera:) They were watching out the window to wave to him as he pulled away. Luckily there was a flash on my camera as it was pitch black in my room and still pretty dark outside.

The video is pretty dark and you might not be able to see them very well. They are looking out the window...same in the picture above. If my voice sounds tired on the video thats because I was:) Wouldn't you be at that time in the morning when your kids are supposed to be sleeping as well as yourself!! You can see Cam back away if you look closely in between the blinds and then you hear them smacking their lips to make kissing sounds....just cracked me up!!

Happy 3rd Birthday!!!

Today was our 3rd Birthday! We had such a wonderful day spending it with our family!!! Mommy and Daddy are so proud of us and the amazing 3 year olds that we have become! Here we are waiting to leave for our birthday outing....we did not know what special plans mommy and daddy had for us. LEGOLAND.....YEAH!!! We were SO surprised when we pulled up!
Here we are with the Lego man out front:)
We loved seeing all of the sculptures made out of Lego's...although we truly didnt understand how amazing it was that they were made completely out of Legos!
We went on a Dragon ride too!
We even saw a Lego Santa....little did we know that mommy and daddy were going to surprise us and take us to see Santa at Woodfield Mall after Legoland....they had such a fun day planned for us!!!
These were so much fun to build with....huge Lego's!
Colin and Daddy were building with regular size Lego's....we only have Duplo size Lego's at our house so this was something new to play with!
Swinging like monkeys in the play area:)
Mommy and Colin playing with the earthquake tables....when you press the button the table shakes and your Lego creation falls off!
Building a big tower!
Colin was so impressed by this huge race car made of Lego's!
On our way out of LegoLand.....we have to say that for the money we were not overly impressed with the place. The kids had a lot of fun (which is all that matters) but Cam and I thought there would be more things for them to do.
Then we headed across the street to Woodfield Mall to see Santa. Cam and I could not believe our eyes when Kaitlyn and Colin sprinted up to Santa and jumped on his lap!!!! Guess they are big kids now and not afraid:) They talked his ear off and since nobody was behind us in line we hung out with Santa for awhile. He sung them Happy Birthday too which was so cute!
Kaitlyn was talking his ear off...Cam and I were cracking up....it was so funny!
They have a brand new play area in the mall so we visited that as well. We figured, why not cram as much stuff into one day as possible....we were having so much fun:) Kaitlyn was riding the big Tricycle.
They kept saying that the skunk stunk and that they matched him since they had black and white on:)
Oh no....hes eating Colin!!
Kaitlyn loved climbing on Tweedy Bird!
On the way out we stopped in Macy's to write a letter to Santa. They wrote to him that they have been such good kids and told him what they wanted for Christmas.
Sending their letters.......
Off to the North Pole!
We went to Red Robbin for dinner. Here they are being so silly:)
They sang and clapped and brought the kids ice cream sundaes! Yum!

Colin was enjoying his sundae!!
On our way home we made one last stop to Grandma and Papa's new house. Here we are being silly and dancing with our cousin Quintin. Guess those sundaes gave a us a sugar high! We had such a wonderful day and are excited about being 3!!!! We look forward to a wonderful year ahead!
