Crafty Kids

Kaitlyn and Colin LOVE to do crafts and color! Their friend Coco from school shared this craft with them. I drew a picture for them on a special paper and then they colored it and wrote their name. Then Coco's mom sent the papers in and they turned the pictures into plates. They are SO cute!
The kids love eating on their plates! Some days I have to wash them in between meals so they can eat on them again:) Thanks Pauline for sharing this craft with us!

They received these puppet crafts on their birthday from their friends Tyler and Connor. They had so much fun making their puppets and putting on a show! They cant wait to open the food craft kit! Thanks to the Doyles for the adorable craft! Can you tell by the pics that the kids were playing dress up too:)

Santa Visit

We took the kids to see Santa last weekend. They visit him every year at a local bank by our house. He is SO personable and wonderful with kids!! They have elves that come to the door and ask the parents their kids names so he can call out to them as they walk in the door:)
Sharing their letters to Santa:)

Trumpet Videos

Cam and some of his teachers are putting on a skit for the last day of school before winter break. He played the trumpet when he was younger but after seeing these videos he is in need of some practice he said:) The kids were fascinated with the trumpet when he brought it home. We laughed so hard that night!! I have to admit though that I had NO idea how hard it actually was to play the trumpet and get any sound to even come out unless you are doing it exactly right. After all the teasing I did I realized that its much more difficult than it looks:)

1st Snow Play

Last week we had our first decent snowfall where the kids could go outside and play!
They were SO excited!

Building a snowman with daddy!

The kids used shovels to make their snowman since the snow wasn't packing real well.

Great Teamwork Daddy, Kaitlyn & Colin!!

Thanksgiving

The kids and I did a turkey craft so we could use them for center pieces on our table. They had so much fun! Here are my little turkeys with their turkeys:)
Helping mommy set the table!!

Auntie Kelly helped us make place mats for everyone. We went on a leaf hunt outside at her house and then made these place mats with wax paper and you iron them together.

Reading on Grandmas new Nook. Its the new color screen and has interactive kids books. Mommy wishes she could ask Santa for one:)

Getting ready to say grace and what we are thankful for! We have SO much to be thankful for this year!!
This moose can eat like no other baby I have seen!!!

The next day Grandma and Papa came to do our annual Christmas set up.

We worked on putting up one of our tree's.

Papa and the kids did their traditional train set up:)

The kids LOVE watching the train go round and round:)

Welcome Home John!

Our neighbor John was deployed for about a year. All of the neighbors put yellow ribbons on our front trees to show support for him while he was gone. The night before Thanksgiving he came home and we were all there to celebrate his safe homecoming!! What a wonderful Thanksgiving it was for him and his family! This sign was made by Johns daughters when he came home from his 1st deployment. So they hung it up for his 2nd homecoming. John had NO clue what was in store for him when he got home! The high school posted a welcome home sign to him!

Maddie, Colin, Lauren, Katie and Kaitlyn all waiting at the VFW for John to arrive!
The patriot riders came and passed out flags so we could line the parking lot with flags for Johns arrival. The local police and firemen were there to help welcome him home as well!

It was amazing to see the support and people coming by who didnt know John to support him!

Welcome home John! He was shocked to say the least!

Hugs for Kaitlyn & Colin!

Thanking all of the firemen and police for being there. There several firetrucks and police cars. They escorted him to his house. There were about 30 cars in the procession. The police cars and firetrucks had their lights and sirens on and all of the cars honked their horns. People pulled over and were yelling thank you! It gave Cam and I chills as we have never been to a welcome home ceremony.
The kids were pen pals with John while he was gone! They were so excited to know he was home safe!

John and Rachel! Rachel was amazing during Johns deployment! I have never met a more strong women! She held down the fort at home and took care of their 2 girls and did an amazing job!!
WELCOME HOME JOHN!! THANK YOU FOR SERVING FOR OUR COUNTRY!
