Uncle Craig & Auntie Jill's House

Last weekend we went to visit Uncle Craig, Auntie Jill and our cousins Reid and Jay. Its becoming our annual summer visit and we have so much fun seeing them! Of course we really enjoy their pool too:) Here we are taking a break and floating around in the pool! Thanks for having us Craig and Jill!!!! We had a wonderful time and look forward to next summers visit:)
Colin liked the shark toy. It wasn't very easy to keep upright and not fall off though.

Uncle Craig and Daddy were tossing Kaitlyn back and forth like she was a beach ball:)

Auntie Jill has a garden and we wanted to check it out. We picked some carrots and ate them straight from her garden. Yum!

Isn't this the tiniest carrot you have ever seen?? The kids loved them! Here's Colin waiting to rinse his off so he can eat it.

Kaitlyn has no fear in the water. The higher you toss her the better!!!

Colin liked to be thrown up in the air too! Last year Colin was a little apprehensive about the water but he was a rock star this time!

Here's video of Daddy tossing him in the air! Colin kept saying no, no, no but he was laughing and kept coming back for more:)

Daddy was dunking Jay and Colin under the water. Poor boys! They couldn't get away from the "dunking monster"!!

Oh No!! Daddy was putting K & C under the water slide!!

Sunday morning Cam and I went running and while we were gone Auntie Jill pulled out the Shrinky Dinks. The kids loved making them!!

Reid and Jay are such great cousins! They play so well with K & C and share their toys too! They were watching Reid and Jay play a Lego computer game.

Thanks Rose for letting Kaitlyn borrow the Barbie life jacket!! Here is Kaitlyn climbing up the slide. She doesn't even test out the water temp first. She was completely dry here and just came outside to swim. First thing she does is go right down the slide! She definitely isn't like her mommy....I take my time and get in slowly!!!

Colin was lounging on a raft!

Thanks Reid for the yummy burgers for lunch! You are a great griller!

Kaitlyn was showing us a dance position...is that position #2??

Like I said....NO fear!!!
Here she is getting flipped by daddy into the water!

Taking a rest...so cute!!

Swimming away with a kick board!

Do you think Cam had too much fun in the sun?!?! After a fun weekend swimming he took a cat nap before dinner Sunday night!!
We were SO proud of Colin this visit. Last year he did not try the slide or diving board. This year he did both several times and were were thrilled! Here's video of him going down the slide and then the diving board! Yeah Colin!!!!

Here's video of Kaitlyn going down the slide and the diving board too!

This was Kaitlyn doing her version of a cannon ball!

Pics From The Last Week

Here are some pics from the last week. Colin loves the Cubbies!! Did you know Colin plays for the Chicago Cubs?? :) Thanks Grandma Young for having Colins Cubs jersey embroidered!! We chose Cams high school basketball #55 to use for his number since Cam didnt play baseball:)

Here is Kaitlyn showing off her pink finger and toe nails. She had them done on Friday:)

Sitting back and relaxing on the driveway while she waited for her nails to dry!

Cam was off last week and we played Legos one day because it was raining outside. Holy Legos..what a mess!!
Cam put together Colins Lego semi for him to play with.

The kids have so many Lego sets so we put as many as we could fit on their table. Kaitlyn's favorite is the supermarket and Colin loves the police station. They played all day with them:)

We babysat Madi one afternoon and it was during nap time. Madi was camped out in Kaitlyn's room on one the kids little cots. The girls thought it was so much fun to have a "nap sleepover"!

Racine Zoo

Yesterday we went to the Racine, WI zoo. Cam is off this week and we have been so busy with the kids intensive swim lessons that we didnt have time to go to Milwaukee Zoo which is larger. We went with our friends Mike, Alivia and baby Jake! We had a great time and despite raining at home we didn't see any rain at the zoo! It was a cute little zoo and perfect for my kids! Its right on Lake Michigan...we were going to take the kids down by the water but it was a little cool.
K & C with little Jake! It was his first visit to a zoo:)

Holding hands:)

Giraffes! We were not brave enough to get closer and feed them like the people in front of us were doing.

Kaitlyn and Colin liked the giraffes! Colins one request though was to see a porcupine! We did see where the porcupine lives but he wasn't in there:(

Rhinos!

Checking out the map....where should we go next?!?!

Kaitlyn's request was to see the penguins. She thought they were silly...she was laughing because the one was waiting by the door. She kept saying "hello...anybody home":)

We got really close to this bird. Their were also peacocks just roaming around the zoo on the walking path.
Family pic!

Mike bought some food and was feeding the goats. Colin liked the goats but not enough to touch them.

Mike was showing Colin where the monkey was. He was silly and was swinging around really fast!
The kids wanted a pressed penny. They each picked out an animal and had it pressed onto their penny.

Alivia and Jake....he was so good and didn't make a peep the whole time we were there. Guess he enjoyed his first trip to the zoo!

Checking out the kangaroos!

Holding sweet Jake! We had a great time! Cant wait to see you guys again soon!

Family Night

Tuesday night we went to Woodfield Mall for a family date! Cam and I have been so proud of the kids behavior lately! Cam had the idea of taking the kids, as a reward, to the mall and out for dinner. K & C have been talking about going to the Hello Kitty and Lego store for awhile so they were so excited when we surprised them and said we were going. We want them to know that we expect them to be on their best behavior all of the time and that they dont get rewards for everything but this reward day was long overdue. And I am sure you are wondering...who brings their camera to the mall...well, I do:) Kaitlyn and mommy outside the Hello Kitty Store. Kaitlyn LOVES Hello Kitty!!
Kaitlyn didnt know which way to turn in the store! Everything was so cute!

She instantly choose a Hello Kitty doll and a ballerina Hello Kitty tote. She plans to use the tote for her ballet shoes when she goes to dance class.

She was very happy with her purchases! You cant tell very well in these pictures but Kaitlyn has on her Hello Kitty shirt from Belgium. Its all rhinestones. Grandma and Papa Young just got back from Belgium and brought her this shirt. She was excited to wear it to the store!

Then we headed to the Lego Store for Colin. He loves Legos and really uses his imagination when he builds things!!

Colin and the jumbo Lego!

Every month at the store they have Lego projects. You get to take the Legos home too. This month was American Flags. Here they are with Daddy helping them make their flags.
Colin was proud of his American Flag!

Colin couldn't decide what he wanted...so many choices! He finally decided on the Lego gas pump/car. It comes with tools and you can take the wheels off.

Daddy and Colin with his purchase:)
Kaitlyn and Colin kept saying thank you to us. Makes us even more proud of them for being so appreciative and great kids!

They have a great play area so we let them run around for awhile. Then we headed to California Pizza Kitchen for a yummy dinner. We had a great night as a family and couldn't be prouder of our kids!!
